Our friends at Rail Splitter CrossFit in Springfield, IL came to us and wanted to produce a promotional video that was face paced, fun and showed that they are more than just a gym.. they are family. In order to tell this story there were a few things that we knew we needed to do....
Interview one of the owners so we could have voice over and better understand why they are more than a gym.
Attend a class and experience what their gym is like first hand.
Film a couple of their classes
Film at their annual Christmas party to see everyone outside of the gym environment.
First of all, let me say that these work outs are no joke. I was exhausted by the end of it and the next day I felt like....well let me just say you KNOW you got a good work out in the next day haha. After attending the class though, I did have a way better understanding for why it felt more like "family" than other gyms I had been a part of in the past. Between the coaches helping you, the group setting, everyone cheering you on (since i finished way after everyone) and then all of the "good jobs" and high fives at the end of the workout -- it really felt like people cared.
From here I knew exactly what we needed to do for the video. We ended up producing two versions -- one less than a minute for Instagram and then one a little longer for Facebook. With the customer handling the actual advertising / targeting, on Facebook the video has:
Reached over 14,000 people (64% of them organically)
Has been watched almost 11,000 times
Has had over 300 reactions, comments & shares
I would say for us not handling the advertising side of it, those are some pretty good statistics!
